Tam, nice looking tree and fruit. How does it taste. I have not
been impressed with this one.

I like the taste of the breba crops more than the main crops. The breba crops were sweet, 1 1/2 times larger, and their eyes were almost closed. Main crops have large eyes; therefore, many ants can get inside the pulp.

Tam, your profile symbol is distracting! The figs do look tasty. I had a Brunswick variant for a couple of years and it did very well in our area in terms of productivity, cold hardiness, etc. It's also a nice tasting large fig. But I lost a lot of figs to splitting and insect damage. In the end I got rid of it because I felt that given my limited space that other varieties would do better. Sometimes I regret that! I think it depends on the year -some years you will get a really good crop and other years it will be a disaster.

Steve: Thank you for letting me know that my previous profile symbol was distracting you. To please you, I change my profile symbol. Steve: These main crop figs have big open eyes. A lot of ants get in and do many damage to the figs. A lot of rain can get inside the figs and cause they to swollen and explode like hand grenades. However, the breba crops taste very good(sweet) and they have very small eyes. Also, the breba crops have more yellower skin and more pink pulp. Best, Tam

When looking at that old avatar, I remember thinking it's a good thing I'm not prone to seizures. Seriously though, you have great additions to the forum.

Your pics are fantastic! And your trees look very healthy. Brunswick grows nicely and I love those leaves, but the splitting is pretty bad here in Philly so I don't grow it anymore, too many high humidity days and too many bugs around here.
