A very generous member who I shall not name but he is free to come forward if he wishes sent a big box of cuttings, some 28 varieties in all and they were earmarked for myself and two other members to share.  There were 3 varieties that all of us already had so thought I would put them up for auction to benefit Jon's fig foundation.   Cut off time will be Sunday at 11:59 PM Eastern time and cuttings will mail out Monday morning if all is taken care of.   Please post your bids on the thread.

There are 10 Sals C cuttings, 7 Hollier and 2 Armenian all will go as a set.  Some of the cuttings are a bit thin but should work out just fine.   The shipping will be on me.

UPDATE........the winner of the cuttings will also get to choose one of the following in a 1 gallon pot,  Nero 600m, Saint Rita or Noir de Caromb.....

Here are the bonus one gallons the winner can pick from......

From left to right it is Noir de Caromb Saint Rita and Nero 600M.

Greetings Wills

Very nice of you to turn these around to the forum with proceeds going to the Foundation. Quick question, since there are different amounts of each fig type what will the Lots consist of that we are bidding on? Thanks

Being a newbie I hate to start her bid, but it is a good cause. $60 for the lot to start.

I decline to comment.  I would never NEVER auction a fig cutting or a plant  As a member in standing, I would gift or trade.  Period.  You can contribute as much as you want to the Fig Foundation, but this is blackmail.

How is that so?
Is it blackmail if he put them on ebay?

The man is trying to do a good deed. Least you can do is appreciate it, instead of hating on it.

For the Record I gave him the cuttings (At least 200 of them). I told him keep what he needed and share what he wants.
And I also told him to help the Foundation. Which he already intended to do, without my help.

Carry on Will

How in the world is it blackmail? He is not making anything on it. He auctions extra cuttings and gives the money to the foundation. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head to bid.

Bid or don't bid, but don't discourage others, like it is some sort of crime. Wills should be commended for this act. Bravo!

Hershell,

Ok......$60 is WAY too much for that lot of cuttings......just for that and to tick off Suzi even more The auction is now for the 19 cuttings and either a 1 gallon Nero 600m, Saint Rita or Noir de Caromb, winners choice.

You try to do a good deed, and get criticized......

why don't the highest bidder just donate to F4FF and get the box, why eBay?

Nice of you to DONATE the cuttings Will.
Carry on the good cause.
Too bad I have them all in several copies ;/

Edit: P.P.
I just don't understand you timing with all this Will!  Seriously!! (and , don't even go asking me what I mean by this, LOL)

Aaron,

What are you talking about?   Why the timing?  Because I just got the cuttings from Rafed in the mail.   Far as Ebay, what does this have to do with Ebay?  The auction is on the board not Ebay.  Are you and Suzi related by chance?

I have no problem shipping it to CA.  I don't live there so their rules mean nothing to me:)  Just know my part ends when I mail it, receipt supplied to the winner.  If the CA plant police intercept it that is on the buyer lol.

Aaron,

Ok but what does that have to do with Ebay?  Don't take this personally Aaron but I try not to read your threads.  That thread of yours I did happen to read though the other day but I did not notice when the auction ended.  I was not aware I had to clear auctions for the foundation through you.  Your varieties and these from Rafed are not even the same varieties......I fail to see what your problem with this is.

Will, it's a common sense, this is not a personal gain. let one end then start another NEXT TIME!
No one needs clearance from nobody but it's a common sense. It's not that there is a competition, anyway, all my cuttings are gone except the 2 packages of premium cuttings for the Auction winner (who is the highest amount donor) and the other package for the Paradise.
Regarding eBay... I was just asking... isn't it easier to just send for Foundation and receive the package?

Aaron,

pretty sure nobody has a problem with the two auctions running at the same time but you.......well and maybe Suzi.   For the last time THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EBAY, ebay is not involved in this in any way what so ever.  I can't be more clear than that.

Willis,
What the h..l ? I can not even understand the strange folk behind the curtain.
Thx for trying and I hope you clear this up as I still have a tree promised to Jon to auction and I sure don't want these nut-jobs flushing their mental commodes on my time.
I support you - even though I have no need when it comes to those particular cuttings - but I certainly appreciate your effort and I hope you manage to successfully swim up stream in this obvious and highly objectionable effluence.

Good luck and thank you,
mgg

Go for it Hershell...LOL

@Wills, Regarding the eBay comment, I swear I saw eBay mentioned at the beginning...I've must've been multitasking and trying to follow the forum. Either that or that Italian Roast was too much for my eyes! I'm just reading and laughing my shoes off...and you guys leave Suzi alone, she is a fine, smart lady.
