I have a small 2 foot potted brown turkey fig.  I noticed some very small - not more than 1/8 inch black insects.  Thirp?  I thought maybe ants but seems even too small for that.  Any thoughts.  Too small to get a good picture.  I am in Central Florida.

Do they seem to be eating or doing any damage?  If not I wouldn't worry.

Dolo -- even some bad pictures would be better than none.  If you have a little digital camera, check to see if it has a "macro" mode.  That helps a lot for the close-up pictures.

Is it ant or not?  Ants are very common.  Very small.

Really hard to get a picture... I used insecticide soak the other night.  Today I do not see any so I am really not sure - maybe they were very small ants.  If I see them again I will give the camera shot and try to get a photo.  No real damage to speak of.  I had some burned leaves from a few weeks ago, but the plant is growing really well - a lot of new growth.
