Today I plucked the first honey fig from the tree.  It's my first ever.

The ants haven't discovered this one yet.  Nice little honey drop on there!  Here she is ready to eat.

Very juicy with no noticeable crunch.  A delightfully sweet and juicy, refreshing fig.  I didn't detect any flavors, but it's the first year to bear.  More flavor in future years I'm thinking.

@Dave, According to Jon in his varieties list it is AKA "Falls Gold."  I scrolled through the list and passed Adriatic.  I am going to head down the hill to see if there are any ripe ones this morning.  Hopefully the birds left me some.  It's still too dark to go down there at the moment.  I always fear I'll encounter "real" snakes.  Even my rubber ones have me do a second take now and then.

Jon's description of Alma was interesting with the history and all.  She still has many figs to share, but they aren't ripe yet.  If I compare her to Mary Lane Seedless, Alma has less seeds.  Both are very sweet, juicy honey type figs.

Sure looks great Suzi! My Alma has a bunch of figs this year - they'll be my first also , if the weather stays warm enough to ripen them!

I hope yours ripen Pattee.  This morning I checked, and one was missing.  It was so ripe, it fell to the bottom of the pot!  I'm thinking it will be delish, but waiting for JD to wake up.  He NEEDS to try this one.

@waynea, so you now have Alma Twins... sorta.  You will be able to tell us if they are or are not the same!  Looking forward to your comparison!
