Ronde de Bordeaux (5 gallon SIP) and Longue d'Aout (ground) air layers results.  (please excuse the messy background)
  • Started both on greenish wood exactly 7 weeks ago.
  • LdA had a stronger root ball compared to RdB.  Not sure due to variety or SIP vs Ground.
  • RdB got droopy shortly after moving to 1 gallon pot.  Removed all leaves except top 4 and it perked back up within 30 minutes.
  • LdA transferred to 5 gallon SIP and never drooped.

Looks good Frank. The LDA looks like a more aggressive rooter.

You're right Tony.  LdA is very strong in the ground.  Thankfully, it loves the Virginia clay.
