Hi guys! I have a question. I want to buy some fig varieties but I do not live in the USA and in my country we have only few varieties. I just want to buy 1 cutting from each fig from my wish list. Col De Dame Grise, Black Madeira, Panache Tiger, Emerald Strawberry, Smith. I also need them shipped in specific condition just like you ship a letter... so I would want a small thin cutting yet covered in damp paper towel because it takes 3 weeks to reach. I don't know from where I can buy these and at which time? Oh I also do not know how much will they cost... Can you help a fellow fig grower with this :)

Can't really help you but would offer some advice...... Damp paper towels and 3 weeks mail time with no airing out you are very likely to receive moldy rotting cuttings. I would suggest no moisture at all and the cuttings wrapped in plastic wrap. They would more than likely reach you in good shape. Getting just 1 cutting of each type....you are brave:) Thin cuttings like you want will work. The last set of really thin cuttings I tried to root did wonderfully. I figured the real thin cuttings would not have enough energy but those 50 or so thin cuttings did just as well as the pencil thickness or better cuttings. If I would not have bet that would have been the case.

Speedmaster i can totally identify with your post. Where I live in Australia there are no chance of buying anything but a couple of common fig varieties from plant nurseries so getting from my wishlist has been so far impossible.

What is the solution?
I once found a way from a website called aliexpress but now they do not sell cuttings! Aaah I had it but didnt have the cash to buy them! They ship from china so I guess you can specify details with the sellers. I got pepper seeds from them with success. Buying seeds is against the law here and I have got all what I ordered till now as long as they ship as letters hehehe....
