Hi all this is the tree that got me into figs. It is the tree that came with my house. I have no idea what it is but I'm pretty sure now it isn't a brown turkey. and info appreciated!!! by the way thats a quarter next to fig in pic.

I can't tell you for certain but the leaves and fruit resemble my in-ground Hardy Chicago. You should wait until they droop loosely to pick them. The opaque white between the skin and the pulp is a giveaway that they aren't ripe. That white part will thin out and turn translucent as it ripens.

Wow that's pretty close. I was told this tree was from Italy but who knows. It's been in ground unprotected for over 20 years. Took at hit this year with the horrible winter but its bouncing back nicely

Hi Happychicken, Chicago Hardy supposedly originates from Italy. Could be your tree.

There's a lot of similar figs collectively referred to as Mt Etna figs.

I looked at a ripe ch and my fig as i have both the ch has ridges and mine does not. Tastes very similar though.Thanks again for all the input
