Bought 6 trees tagged as Texas Everbearing at Lowe's back in Spring.  There are at least 3 different trees, one may be a Brown Turkey, one is most likely a English/Eastern Brown Turkey (EBT), and one is what most people around East Texas call the Everbearing, which in my opinion is a Brunswick/Magnolia sport/mutant, based on the leaf.  It is no wonder how these things (fig identities) get screwed up.  It doesn't make sense for production nurserys to mistag so many trees, I think there is a reasonable expectation that a consumer can expect to get what you think you are paying for.

This is not the same as a figister naming an unknown, as bad as that may be, there remains an expectation that the name may be incorrect, if properly tagged as XXXX, unk.

As it turns out, the EBT is one of my favorite figs, and the others are doing well, but that is no excuse and I intend to address the issue with Lowe's.

I will try to get picts showing the differences, as soon as I get over this crud.

You should have at least gotten 6 trees of the same variety (whatever it was), since they were all tagged the same.

Its sad.  I'm sure Lowe's will say they got them labelled as such.

Hi dkirttexas,
At least you got what you were looking for ...
Just one question: did you buy the trees while dormant ? if not didn't the trees expose different leaves pattern ?
Here in a sales, I saw trees all labelled "Brownturkey" - between 8 and 10 trees for 7€ each... They were not exposing the same growth habit nor leaf pattern nor colors...
Well for that price, I chose one that looked pretty and let's see what comes out.
For now, the tree has exposed no figlet ... But I bought her in April/June so I'll see next year ...
Perhaps what some refer to as TC trees .
