Glad you found lots of figs there. I was just in Amman Jordan and I was surprised how many fig trees I saw, they were everywhere.

Great adventure. Mark, that first figtree looks like a prolific breba cropper, don't you think ? Were you just there now ?

Wishlist: Yellow Yugo/Serbian Yellow and any other fig variety that carries a high number of breba figs to maturity without pollination by the fig wasp.

Yellow Neches, Becane (might be the same) and any other main crop fig variety, that ripens earlier than Ronde de Bordeaux

Greetings again, still in Baku and finding lots of figs. Was walking around the Olde Town bits yesterday, and there are some ancient fig trees growing there. Here are a few pix.

Thanks for the photos, Mark. Nice photos and trees.

Here, in Portugal - now that i am noticing it more (the fig virus disease is getting stronger and i have my "fig tree alert ON" all the time) -  i have discovered many, many fig trees all over, including in the center of Lisbon. It usually happens when i am driving, so i try to take a mental note of the location of each tree to try to check them out later, if possible - like one with huge brebas i spotted last week in a backyard with large branches hanging out to the street.
But it's getting hard to keep track of them all.

The other day i was in a hospital and while waiting for a family member small surgery to end i went for a walk. Near the back of the hospital grounds there was a fence to an old document archive state building with a garden and inside 2 very big fig trees. One, seemed the common Pingo de Mel variety, but the other i couldn't identify and it looked very interesting - very big 5 lobed leafs and large figs (not brebas) that are still growing. Got to check this one out in a few weeks.

It's a disease and it's getting worse from all the temptations i have almost every day. Harvey was so right naming his web site Figaholics - we sure need some help and support.
