Nice didnt know they even had such a device. Good find this is the good time of year to hit your local good will. The good will owner has it made people drop off his inventory and cheap labor. What a smart man. Dont let them fool you with the name good will. And dont get me wrong i love me some good will !!

Great find! I paid retail for mine, lol. I've been checking it a lot as temps have been down to single digits. Below zero coming soon. I have 2 heaters in the garage and am fine tuning them as I go.

This Goodwill is right beside my gym, so I am in there 3-4 time a week. I find some nice little gems sometimes. I just set it up by my bed. I absolutely LOVE how it projects the time and indoor/outdoor temp on the ceiling!

That is really nice and takes the worry about having to get up and check the temps. during a cold night. I will definitely be searching Goodwill and auctions for this creation.

I also enjoy the thought of knowing accurate outside temps in the morning before heading out to work.Quote:

Joe, I had a cheaper Oregon Scientific that was very unreliable. This one seems to be built much better. Time will tell!

Figgy Frank, we have a thermometer in the hallway that gives outside/inside temps. and the lowest temp. reached until manually reset. This am it was -8 when I got up. The sleeping figs, dahlias, cannas and potatoes are in the basement but we don't have a gauge down there. If it would go below freezing in that area we would definitely know by the temperature on the main floor. Wind is picking up here. Now the cold really begins...

Yep. I dread this type of cold. The wind makes it so much worse.

I use a similar thing (but two "single" wireless thermometers, rather than one "double"). I bought mine new on sale, two for $8 or so. One in the garage, one outside. (and both also show the "inside" temperature too). Here's this year's version of the kind I have, on sale currently at Amazon for $12 each.http://www.amazon.com/La-Crosse-Technology-WS-9245UBK-IT-CBP-Temperature/dp/B003LZ7WKW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1420603028&sr=8-7&keywords=crosse+thermometer Mike central NY state, zone5a

Actually, it looks like yours is more sophisticated, Frank. In any case, nice find! I saw another one that shows min/max (a feature I wish I had on mine). Maybe yours does that. Mike
