I think it is a cool idea, hopefully that person is not someone who signs up, posts 5 times and is gone. Or one of the EBay trolls that lurk on here to see what is hot and hijack people's pictures. Also, picking cultivars should be held off until we know where that person lives. Try to match them up with best plants for their area. Then I think small plants rather than cuttings, the average success rate for new members with rooting cuttings is low. It would be nice for them to have a couple plants then maybe some cuttings to try out. JMO Scott

It would also be regrettable if that person lived in a little apartment with a balcony just big enough for a 10 gallon plant. Oh cruel irony...

Member 4,444 goes on cutting probation until spring ,when he or she receives the package! I can also help with a couple of nice sticks! ;) patience is a must in the fig growing world anyway.

I didn't mean to sent the member the rare and most expensive varieties... something that can take them trough their learning experimental stage. Who knows, maybe that lucky person is a fig grower...things would change then. so we'll see, we can ask him/her before putting the package together. Besides...by the time 4444 hits the member board it might be Spring too :) I , personally find sending rooted plants to be a challenge from California, where cuttings are a breeze. we can get ready for it ...slowly, haha, we got time. it's just that I think 4444 is an important numerological value altogether.

Explain to me again how to make another, I mean an ID? Let's see ... I live on 100 pristine fertile acres with drip irrigation newly installed. Did I mention it is all under glass for winter warmth? I don't have a single fig, I mean I don't think I would like them anyway. Please send me every variety so I can try them all.
