When yours fig starting growth in zone 6 and 7.

I'm curious when yours, (especially in the United States in the zone 6 and 7) figs begin to growth. __________________ Lanckorona, Poland Elevation 455 m (1493 ft) (49° 49') USDA 6 Wish list: My area in USDA ZONE 9 :D My varieties: Panache, Peretta, Napolitana, Michurinska-10 and probably Brown Turkey.

My in-ground Hardy Chicago typically sprouts late May. My potted plants in the garage start budding in April to early May. I work hard to keep them asleep because I can't give them as much light as they need until Early May. The logistics of shuffling stacked fig pots is too much. __________________ Zone 6, MO Wish list: Galicia Negra, De La Reina - Pons, Genovese Nero - Rafed's, Sbayi, Souadi, Acciano, Any Rimada, Sodus Sicilian, any Bass, Pons or Axier fig, any great tasting fig.

Late February for zone 8. allreafy have figs growing on my in ground __________________ RICHIE BONI HICKORY LOUISIANA ZONE 8B WARM HUMID WINRERS ARE VERY MILD LOW 20'S BUT WARMS RIGHT UP DURING THE DAY. SUMMER IS EXTREMELY HOT & HUMID 100 degrees 100% humidity fig tree grow like crazy but some split from rain & humidity Wish list. Col de dame blanc Col de rimada Lsu numbered figs

My unheated attached garage stays around 50° all winter, so some break dormancy in Feb, while most break in March. As for in ground, sometime in April. __________________ Frank zone 7a - VA

I try to delay uncovering my in-ground figs until after the last frost date May 20. Usually at Easter the temptation to uncover them begins. The bright sun and hot temperatures I know those poor figs are boiling under the covers but from past experience I know that if I uncover them in April they will start growing and then a sudden frost will come and set them back. Last year was bit odd because of the severe winter and the in-ground figs didn't break dormancy until June. __________________ Pino, zone 6, Niagara, JCJ Acres Wish; Peace on earth and more figs Italian 258, Galicia Negra, Luv, trade suggestions welcome.

I have mine in a south facing window right now and they are doing well. Today was 70 but not worth taking them out for 1 day.
