Hi, Since I do not like buying cuttings on Ebay I thought I would try here. If anybody have some Ronde de Bordeaux cuttings they don't mind parting with I would like to buy some. Please let me know by PM or email. Thank you. Mat

It’s a shame you don’t like eBay, because one of our respected members here is offering quality cuttings of RdB right now on eBay. I've bought cuttings from him in the past and am getting a 100% sprout rate on all his cuttings so far. That’s not the case with other sellers. The cuttings may cost a little bit more, especially compared to free-bees from unknown sources, but are worth it in terms of the reliability of the product and the seller. When we show our support with our money of people who make an effort to provide genuine quality products, it encourages them to continue to do so and other people to do the same. I've used PayPal for years and like it better than checks or credit cards.

It is not that I do not like eBay. I have done a lot of purchases on eBay. I just did not like buying cuttings on eBay because there is a possibility of getting some other variety. After reading your post I checked and found right now there are two offerings of RDB cuttings. One is from somebody I do not know in a buy it now format, with a price I would not agree with. The other listing is from a respected member, but unfortunately in the auction format. I almost exclusively go for the buy it now format because I have no time for all the gymnastics associated with the auction. If this listing was with a buy it now option I would have bought it right away. In any case one of the members here already contacted me with cuttings for sale. It was much faster than I expected, considering this variety does not show up for sale that often.

Mat9, Congratulations on scoring the cuttings you wanted from a member here. I'm with you on the auction format. I will do "Buy it now," but auctions leave me cold! Suzi

Yes, congratulations on finding the cuttings you wanted. I don't like the auction part of eBay either, but some sellers offer a "2nd chance offer" to all the top bidders when they lose an auction, depending on how many cuttings are available and how high the price goes. One seller told me he offers "2nd chance offers" to the top four of five bidders if they have made what he considers a reasonable offer. I like the "Buy It Now" option better too, but I've had a few "Buy It Now" sales on eBay where the cuttings were inferior, old, dry and/or possibly not what they claimed to be. Perhaps the sellers were trying to unload them in a quick sale just to get rid of them? Now I try to stick with sellers I trust with what ever way they choose to sell their cuttings.

Thank you, Mara. Exactly why I did not want to buy cuttings on eBay. There is a lot of BS going on eBay These days. I have been buying stuff on eBay since it started, but a lot have changed since then.

There would be nothing wrong with contacting the 'trusted member selling on ebay' and asking if you could purchase for a buy-it-now price that you were comfortable with. All he could do is decline, but knowing him to be a great guy, he'd probably be happy to accomodate you. I'm sure he has more than 1 set of cuttings.
