Hi there.. I just got into this froum
1. I just bought cuttings from the middle east, wondering whether they are suitable to be planted in tropical country in the south east Asia?
2. Is planting figs in big pot alright?

Yes, I would think that is the optimal environment.  Good soil will be a factor as well.
I would start with 1 or 3 gallon pot.  Once they outgrow this, move to 5 or 10 gallon and continue to up size pot or plant in the ground.  Welcome to the forum.

Figs like dry heat, not tropical heat.  They will grow, but might split and sour if it's too wet where you are.  Some varieties do much better in tropical environments than others.  Good luck!

And desertdance Wonder what's the most suitable varieties for the tropical heat? Have tried any or have any experience with the species?
