Had to go to Santa Rosa this morning, so I stopped at Imwalle's Farm to see how the fig trees were doing. As usual, they didn't prune them again this year. They are out of control, but beautiful. The owner told me that they were planted 40 years ago, one for each of his kids. Mission and Kadota. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Nice trees! Thanks for sharing. You can’t blame them for not pruning them, it will take many people-hours to accomplish the task.

Wow ! Fig trees everywhere ,all over again! Great photos Gary. Thanks for sharing. Which one is the Mission? The fig on the first pic with the deep lobes looks more like an Atreano( judging from other photos,I do not actualy have one)!

Chris, I'm pretty sure that the one with deep lobes and lots of brebas is a Mission. Kadota produces later. The trees are pretty close togeter and growing into each other. There are 6 or 8 more around the property.

Glad you enjoyed seeing them Dan, Igor and Coop. I need to remember to keep my camera with me, as I keep seeing more old trees.

It looks like some of the branches got too heavy and grew into the ground making another tree.

Thanks for sharing the photos Gary. These are amazing trees. There is an overgrown tree like this in a front yard a few blocks from me. I have been tempted to go knock on the front door and ask about the tree, but the locked iron gate and broken down cars in the driveway have dissuaded me a bit. I am looking forward to seeing more photos of Sonoma County figs.
