YOu may have seen my post on score rooting in perlite, but i also root right in the pot as well if i have alot of cuttings to do. this is a 9 inch anderson band pot with a Latarola fig cutting. the cutting was treated and poted fri dec 7th. and did not have any under warmth, but has been in a warm bathroom. i have several like this. this is a simple mix of miraclegrow moister control (which i dont care to much for but its all i could find) and a little bit of perlite added.

Dave, Thanks for posting info. I have noticed that maintaining a warm ambient temperature (76 Deg F.) has been very successful in getting cuttings to root quickly. Would you happen to know the average ambient temperature of your bathroom? Thanks Edit 12/20/12 6:05 PM;Thanks for the reply. The temperature is the only variable missing from your post (explanation) of the rooting method. With the actual average room ambient temperature, this method can be duplicated by others to get the same or similar successful results.

no honestly i am not sure of the temp, i have a space heater in there and when the door is shut i bet it hits 80 + and with steamy showers on top of it. that bathroom is the warmest part of the house. the rest of the house i try to keep at 70 but is hard beings i am out of fire wood and using only the furnace. right now we are getting hammerd with 25 F temps outside and winds 60mph or more. not good for this drafty place. wind chill 10 f.
