Yep!  Been pouring all day!  JD put a fire in the fireplace!  OMG!  It's not THAT cold!  Just rainy!  We did need a nice soaking.  Supposed to hang around through Monday!

Enjoy!

I got about .15 inches yesterday in Charlotte. Still only have 1.9 since April 20th (should be around 12 inches). A few miles south of me has had inch+ rains about 5 times in the last month. Seems like their is a rain shield over my house.

Saturday is one of the two days a week we're allowed to run our sprinklers here before nine o clock in the morning or after six o clock at night. I started the sprinkler around five o clock in the morning, so -of course- it had to rain. It was fun driving around in it and watching the lightning strike in the distance. The fourth of July fireworks can't begin to compare.

I hope it's raining for you today, So CA!  Doubt it will help the drought, but it will help all the plants growing in the ground.  I hope it drowns all the gophers!  Today lots of distant thunder and off and off rain so far.  More expected throughout the night.

The thunder doesn't stop.  You breathe for a sec, and back it comes.  Tropical storms.  Go figure.  Plus it's friggin muggy!

More rain fell over the weekend. I think they said it was a record for this time of year.
One of the problems with more rain.... But this would never happen in SoCal this time of year, would it? Naaa.....

Igor……  is this an Alma that blew up?

Had the same thing happen to my Alma, guess it couldn’t handle the 1.5 inch of sweet rain we had.  Nice thing is it came over a two day period, so very little run off here.  God knows we needed that!  Weather folks claim the storm set a record for any July on the books.   Also, it appears out drought could end this winter if this building El Nino happens.

Along with a refreshing rain, we’ve had a very high cloud cover and high humidity for over a week now.  Very tropical like!   I was shocked at the way all my fig trees responded to this condition.   Much new growth, bigger leaves and new fruit!   Just hope they don’t all go into shock when full sun returns here on the coast.

Jack,

That is my neighbor's tree, most likely related to Kadota. Very good figs but with tough skin. Many exploded after the rain.

The sun is already back in my hood. I thought the rain watered the pots too but this afternoon many figs were with droopy leaves, back to a regular watering!
It is good that the figs for larger, now it is time to ripen.

The best one that came out is the Long Yellow, it always wants more water because everything is huge about this tree. It is covered in many pear size figs, like a Christmas tree :)
