Rzali , Ghzali (deer)  aka- ghozlani ,molasi
Probably named cause its exterior color is similar to that of a deer.
the tree is large and tall and medium prolific.
The fig is mid season one, large, very tasty with lots of berry tones combined with honey.
the ostiole is wide open driping honey through ripening, probably more suitable to high mountain.
In my view- in a good season its better than Hmadi or Sbayi in taste.

Thanks all ,
The location is in Jerusalem in a national conservation park. All the tree's are numbered.
Almost 100 varieties but there are alot of duplicates.
Here is G,Yavnel from last year still the same drop on the eye.
Its one of those varieties with a pure berry taste with less honey tones. does'nt taste like a fig.

Thanks for the beautiful photos and info, elin.

Sultani is one of your favorites? I would never choose that one from the photos. Its seems kind of dry, as some of the larger figs can be sometimes.

For instance, over here people are always very interested on a very large fig (big figs really draw attention), with a curious name - "Colhões de Burro", which translates, literally, to "Donkey's testicles"  :-)

Usually, its a fig that has a big open ostiole, some tendency to splitting on the tree and does have a very dry aspect in the interior. I never tasted one, but the person who took the photos and has the variety, says they are, nevertheless, a good tasting fig.

It would be one of the last i would choose in a lineup. We really eat with ours eyes...

Js Hi, After eating so many figs this summer, the ones that stood out are not the sweetest/juiciest.

I believe its the relationship between pulp quantity -honey-berry-figgy taste that make a good fig special in my view, and that can't be transferred in a picture.
also most fig variety cant bring the home-runs each season but few do in my experience-solid performers.

Lets say:
Sbay has a certain alcholic berry taste.
Hava has a lingering berry taste which is not so sweet but makes you want to eat more the texture is "gelatinous".
Hmari has a deep taste of berry-figgy and honey all together .
Black Portugal which was given had a fruity note which i didnt notice in other figs

Js those testicular figs look good, i would be happy to eat those too :)
