Hello all, We have a fig tree/bush that has something eating new leaves only. They appear deformed around the edge and many don't make it to an adult leaf. We have seen some small caterpillars but only a couple. There are some ants, spiders but no web anywhere. Any Ideas?

Hello, check the newest leaves on the shady side for aphids. The ants are probably Argentine ants, bait them with 1 tsp. borax per cup of sugar solution or old jelly or something, they will go after the fruits later in the year.
Very hard to see sometimes because they can be green, look closely.

They also come in black and probably other colors, figs don't usually have a problem with aphids, it is the ants that are the problem.

Welcome and good luck.
