I like those cracks in ripe figs.
Those figs looked really good ! And they were !

That is the way I like them! If they have cracks then you know they are going to be perfect! Oh yea, Beautiful Figs! : )

Those figs look great glad you enjoyed them!  What are they?

Do you really need cracks to tell you figs are ready to eat? 
If a fig is drooping, soft to the touch and a drop of honey coming out of the ostiole wouldn't that be good enough? 
If you were shipping those figs for sale to a market would the cracks reduce the shelf life of the fig?
Some people prefer them not too ripe that they can easily spoil.
