First Valleiry of the year. What impressed me most about this fig is the intense, lingering flavor it had even though it could have gone another 1-2 days. Along with Laradek, this has to be one of the finest English Brown Turkey variants that I have tasted. I look forward to eating some brebas next season.

Leon, doing well. Up a little late tonight doing some programming. Things going great here in the ME. All the turkish figs I can eat. I work with some turks so they can also bring me the real deal when they return from home. I tried calling u when I was back.. We seemed to have missed each other when I called. We should talk some time.

How does this compare to Laradek in terms of size, productivity and ripening season? It sure looks great.

My Valleiry is an immature tree so it is hard to compare at this stage. My Laradek is a mature tree and is very productive. What struck me the most was the flavor of this Valleiry before it was even fully ripe. Also the taste of the figs lingers on the palate compared to other varieties, which I find unusual and valued.
