hello ross, you can attain real pictures of Sultani fig from Aaron's (the person who introduced the Sultani to this forum) at his Facebook page LosAngelesFigForest . The Fayumi doesnt show Rimada effect or the star pattern radiating from Ostiole of the fig, so, I'm not sure if the statement of them being the same fig is true.

That is a nice looking fig in Aaron's photos! There seems to be several Sultani figs the original Egyptian Sultani/Fayumi fig, Aaron's Sultani and a green Sultani from Syria;http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/sultani-fig-fayumi-fig-8099021?highlight=fayumi&pid=1292325654 http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/the-sultani-fig-6992117?highlight=sultani&pid=1291598770
