Can anyone tell me anything about LSU Dead Cat 2? I only found one thread that vaguely covered the DC series but no specific information on this one variety.. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

There are a number of LSU DC figs.. A guy was sent out to get cuttings of each of them before the mother trees were bulldozed. When he was there, he found a dead cat. Hence the name..

Fig pig also knows a lot about them but as far as I can tell most of them are not in circulation.  Meaning no one knows if anyone has live wood from them or not.

There are a few members that have them, first hand knowledge.  If those members want to ID themselves they will.  I don't know if the donor trees are still there or not.

I think member "pukzpukz" aka Joe is also very involved with the program and likely knows a lot about them....

I acquired a few cuttings from LSU  ,DC 2,DC 6,and DC 7 .......DC 6 produced a few figs last year,a large bronze color fig, very sweet rich taste.DC 7 also produced a medium size yellow fig last year .I would put it in the honey fig category with caramel taste.I will have more info this year as they ripen.
