Ottawan, you will get an air layered JH Adriatic if my plant survive the winter. It seems Noir de Caroumb is Kathleen Blk. If this is the case, I can air layer one too. I have Smith but it is pruned down to one 8" limb for cuttings to other fig friends. I will see what can be done next year. My Negretta for last 2 year is still about 6". Stubborn variant ? Will boost it with my fish compost. Thanks to the huge salmon(33 million) run by my doorstep.

Cathy, I might be able to squeak out a small cutting of Hollier for you with the unknown Morley cuttings I'm sending you in the coming week or three.  My tree is a 2nd year tree, but ... it's still a little shrimpy, I apparently had a pretty severe dieback (or something?) over last winter and it isn't recovering well.

Thank you Rafed!  Keep me posted in the summer for that Mega Celeste.  I am planning a trip to Adriano's in early summer.  I plan on getting some Noir De Caromb cuttings or small trees when I go.  I will put you down for one.

But he has many, many variants that you will think never existed.

You know you're a fig nut when you are outside in the garage starting cuttings instead of wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve!!!!  But Santa sent me some nice cuttings yesterday and I just had to start them using Jon's new method.  I started 12 more moments ago.  Ok...time to go play Santa.

So fig friends, the season is just around the corner for me and Jason, thanks for bumping this thread as I am still waiting for
belated SANTA. I should say this thread was great as I managed to touch base with some fig friends for the 1st time and
exchange fig lists. There were good surprises like I have not heard of some of the interesting variants and I am thankful  to the
kindness & opportunities to trial some of these variants. Thanks guys. You know who you are.

Well I didn't post my wish list but Santa sure was nice. So a great big thank you to all who shared cuttings with me this past year. I just wish my trees would have been big enough to share some of what I have. Hopefully this year will bring me plenty of growth so I can get cuttings this fall and winter to share with others. It a great and fuzzy feeling to know I have friends across the land that I haven't met yet, but one day maybe. It's even a better feeling to have met some face to face.

Well, I gotta say, this thread has been kind.  I'm still looking for Pratt Purple and Violette Soleis, but I have either purchased, traded or scored the others on kindness. 

I think I have a line on CdD Noir and Pastilliere, but now I'm thinking  "unknown Pastilliere" could be an interesting catch.

I have some Unknown Pastilliere rooting.

I could send you one in a cup or pot later when temps get warmer. I don't think it would be a good idea to ship a cutting to you now while in the process of rooting in this cold weather.

My wife's been doing the shipping for me but when I go home I'll do the judging.

I will be out a little longer this time around so I can be home for my wedding anniversary on April 18

No rush on my side. 

I am still holding on possible cuttings of Pastilliere, this and Unk Pastilliere are more an experiment than anything since most say these two varieties drop fruit like crazy and may require pollination.  curious to try them in the SE USA, since I haven't seen much from anyone on the subject in this zone/state.  Apparently Ray Givan never got his hands on either, and even still ... he's coastal.

May be this week. Sorry for the delay which is caused by cold weather not relenting (garage is a bit dark unless I open the door for sometimes but being -7C to -10C I did not do that yet. Day after tomorrow seems a good day).

@Akram, I am in no rush, I hope you didn't think I was questioning.  I go for months on some trades with figfriends, it's just understood "it will get there when it gets there".   Ask JD ... I think we have the most lethargic trading regimen ever ;)  things always get where they're supposed to, though.

@rafed, please consider GeorgeK before me w/Unk Pastilliere if you only have one or two to provide.

Jason, I got to say I am thankful that Santa did not grant me my wish for the 6 variants named but he did his very best and gave me more than 6 awesome variants to try like FF Roja, Violet Sepor, LSU Scott Yellow, Bellone, Col De Dame Noir, Verde Passo, Moscatel Preto etc. I hope other fig friends did well and I am thankful to many fig friends who did their very best to help. A special gracias to Jon for having this site to make things possible.

Congrats on the CdDN and good luck. It will be nice to have that variety growing in a new location and distributed more widely at some time. Also, after reading Dan_la's post about it, I think you have quite a rare variety in LSU Scott's Yellow. Please keep us posted.

Lethargic? I call it "comfortable" and an "island-like" demeanor. With many of my friends, we appreciate just spending time and not having to fill each moment with talk...that type of friendship is a beautiful thing.

I figure this could be a good time to re-bump this thread, still hoping to keep it alive.  Of course there is no guarantee that posting here will result in instant success, but posting your top 6 most-desired varieties (think big!) is a great way to set goals for your collection... and I can say from personal experience that it's rather satisfying you can cross them off the list as you achieve them!

I'm still  on the hunt for Pratt Purple and Violette Soleis, per post #3 above. 
I still have a solid "possible" on CdDN and Sicilian Black still, fingers are crossed for the fall.

I have several strains of Sicilian figs (including Robin's Sicilian black) that are black. Some have not yet fruited for me.

Robin's Siciilan Black is a fig that I personally discovered at JR's place quite a few years ago. I made the forum members aware of this fig and his small retail business.  JR propagted that fig for an old lady who lives in Metarie, La. The cuttings that she gave to JR for propagation came from a tree whose lineage  originated in Sicily. Her grandfather brought the tree into New Jersey many years ago. She gave JR the extra starts and I purchased one of those from him. I have pictures of it "somewhere"....likely on my old computer.

Robin's Sicilian Black is a medium to large size black fig. It is completely different than any other fig.....it is its own unique cultivar. It is a mid season fig. It has its own very unique taste. This fig does well with light rains. However, it can split with heavy rains. The taste is excellent and I find it to have a hint of concord grape like taste. Not strong....but a definte hint. The fig will drip red colored "liquid" honey which will block the eye. I have never seen that honey turn into taffy..... like honey does on some of my other trees. Taffy honey figs can handle heavier rains. I have two RSB trees and will have cuttings in the fall for trades.

Unknown #11 is reputed to be a Sicilian fig. It is a very good tasting black fig that does well in my area. Its taste profile is very similar to Sal's, Dark Portuguese, and Gino's. I do not know why....but for some reason the birds do not bother these figs as much as they do others.

Last year (or year before) I picked up another unkown black Sicilian heirloom fig from an old lady whose husband's family brought it into the country. That one has those pink leaf stems and red buds that I like to see. The old lady thought that it might be a Black Mission fig.....I don't think that it is.

I have another black Silician fig that came from an old deceased fig collector. The mother tree had been cut down and I obtained a re sprout just before the mother tree finally went to fig heaven.  I have had it in the ground for two years (mayabe three?) and it did not grow very much. This year I fertilized the HECK out of it and now it is finally taking off. No pink stems on this one, but it sure has some pretty leaves.
