On Dec 19, 2010, I started cuttings I had received as part of a trade. These were supposed to have been Golden Celeste cuttings. Today I noticed that one of the fruit has started to ripen. Here is what I got:

Wow!  I thought Golden Celeste had a golden exterior color?  Well, Ruben, maybe it's a .......Rainbow Celeste?

I can stop laughing now, but it is hard.

There are at least 3 strains of Golden Celeste in the retail trade......and that is not one of them.

wouldn't be so bad except that I already have 10 plants/trees (and growing!). Looks like it will be the first to ripen fruit tho. lol

Sorry but I am still laughing!

Well, it happened to me 5 years ago and guess what I did?  I was so happy when I got my trees that I planted them in the ground.  Two years later, they fruited and turned out to be all 3 Celeste.  Ya gota laugh at it!  AND LEARN.

Dan,

I notified the person I traded with. He said he was told that is what they were. Never actually grew them himself. So I doubt the other plants will be different. (yuk it up, Dennis! lol)
