Figs on one of my plants have started to change appearance. Ribs are appearing, with darker coloration between the ribs. and a few are looking a little splotchy. I am wondering if this is normal, or is something happening that I should be taking action to prevent. first pic is of plant second two show a few figs, with the splotchy one(s) included. thanks

You got yourself a Celeste there. The change in appearance ,on the oldest fruits mean 2 things. They will ripe,or they will drop off dry and bad. Celeste does that with the most mature fruits only at the beginning of ripening season. Once the tree grow older and mature,(7years),it should stop dropping fruits,or drop very few,and keep most.

Thanks Herman, I was hoping it was a celeste, and not the BT it was sold as. The leaf shape and the dropping of breba made me suspect it could be a celeste. and you are right on the mark, it is the few oldest fruits that are going splotchy like that.
