This is the first season that my VDB's leaves are so long and wide. They are 12-17 inches long and 6-9 inches wide. The longest leaves (15+ inches) are the one on top of the tree. |

VdB does produce finger like leaves. I have never seen them that huge though. Maybe because of over fertilizing (and them being too happy) - are you?

No George. Gave it a little Osmocote back in April along with some limestone. Also, since April this tree (along with my other trees) have been only liquid fertilized every 4-6 weeks. |

For me, they look more like Brunswick leaves. At least, none of my VdBs have ever had leaves like that. Should be more "pointy". Has this fruited yet? |

My VDB does display that large elongated leaf type. It is not the most typical leaf type, but it does sometimes show up: ![]() More typically the leaves are smaller and look like this: ![]() |
