I was looking for seedless figs? I heard about a Mary Lane, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this fig or any other seedless types?

The few that are called seedless still have seeds. Some have less seeds or smaller, less noticeable seeds, but still have seeds.

Hmm.  I was looking for a variety that didn't have so much of the crunchy seeds. My husband was wanting one without that seedy crunch.  Know of a variety that is less crunchy?

I will have Janice Seedless in February. That, along with Mary Lane are the two most common.

Gorgi, did you grow this fig from scratch (stick)? If so, how long until it fruited for you? that is one nice looking fig.  I am rooting a cutting of that kind and just wonder if there is magic, since it is a Chinese fig...

There seems to be some variants for the Wuhan fig name.
The one I have came from source SSE-LA MC R 06.
I even back traced and communicated with the original person that brought it here.
It is kind of a nice dwarfish tree with a horizontal growth habit (great for pots).
A very good rooter too.

I bought some potted trees at Lowes the week before last with plans to graft them.  I just noticed yesterday that one of them is Janice.  I might decide against grafting it.  They actually had a pretty good selection of varieties with Fourwinds Nursery being the source.  I saw on Jon's variety list that Bay Laurel is listed as once of the sources (Dave Wilson being listed as the other and I'm pretty sure Bay Laurel obtains their stock from Dave Wilson) and Bay Laurel indicated it was "patent pending".  I searched online and the application was filed 9/27/91 and granted 6/15/93 so I believe the patent expired 9/27/2011.  Patents used to expire 17 years from the date it was granted but then changed to 20 years after the application was filed.  I forget the effective date of the change but the patent has already expired in either case.

Gorgi, did this Wuhan fruited in 2 years like all others? I am very curious as I am nursing a very special cutting of this kind!

Marylane Seedless, Seedless, Jelly, Janice Seedless are all the same fig. It is almost completely seedless and when there is a seed, it is not notable because so tiny.
It is medium in size, yellow, oblate-spherical, very juicy and sweet The tree is fast growing. It seems to like warm weather and does well here in south Florida and in Alabama.
I bought a small tree last year and might have some cutting next year.

Sal, they're not listed as synonyms at http://figs4fun.com/Varieties.html and the leaves of Janice seem to be different than Mary Lane.  The patent information for Janice says it was a sport of a Kadota so it would seem to be an original name.  What's the history of Mary Lane?  I see Adriano's listed as a source but I don't see how long that goes back.

LSU Purple has little to non seeds/seed crunch.
