Planted 2006, six years old? I've seen pretty amazing growth on in ground trees in NYC. |

2009 would be my blind guess, I have a tree that is a 4 year old with a bit thicker trunk than this one and a 6 year old that is at least half the size than this. |

I was going to guess planted Aug 2008, but then realized it was planted in Aug, so I'll guess Aug 2007. The concrete probably helped its quick growth and I'll also guess it was fed manure tea. |

It's 10 1/2 years old and the fertilizer was a yellowish liquid. |

A yellowish liquid would have been my second guess. My dog does wonders for my grass as long as she doesn't burn it. : ) |

I will have to guess home made fish fertilizer as I see there is a tackle shop next door |

Jersey City is a few miles from me. My neighbor's 42 yrs old tree has about the same size of trunk, but your tree seems to receive full sunlight, I'll guess it's 10 yrs old. |

I have seen 4-5 year old trees that size, and 25 year old trees that size. |

I guess 6.5 years old (August 2006). And that the fertilizer is peanut shells. (And maybe other nut shells too). |

my guess is 3.5 years and beer fertilizer or pepsi. |

I will guess 3 years old and the fertilizer is from the fish tank. |

I say 10 to 12 years old. Since there are peanuts shelling near by, I am assuming tree was fertilized by peanuts. |

5 years old. Fertilized with beer induced urine and a handful of miracle grow a couple of times a year. Also maybe the ashes from the charcoal grill. |

Depends on the cultivar. There is a wide range and honestly.....nobody knows as you can see from the responses. The tree is over 10 years old. |

Hey Dennis. I interpreted Jack's question a little differently. I assumed he knows what year it was rooted, and is making something like a little contest to see who can guess it from the clues. Not sure, but that's what I thought this thread is. :-) |

Since it has never been protected, it could have died back from winter and this could be new growth after the die back. It was planted as a single cutting twig and it has multiple trunks now. We don't know when the mother tree was planted, and since it is in Jersey it could have been planted 100 years ago! |

Ok, how about 8 years old and seaweed as fertilizer. |

I'm sticking with my guess about fertilizer, but since I know now that 2006 wasn't the choice, I'll say August 2001. |

I'm just happy it's growing between a crack in the sidewalk because the new property has lots of cracks between boulders, so I might just stick a cutting in a few and see what shakes! I'll guess 11 years and no fertilizer of any kind. |

Not Dennis, but pretty sure it was 59 seconds, it's much to tall for 58 seconds. |

How about 9 years old? And, I shutter to think what the "fertilizer" could be, opens up a whole bunch of possibilities, lol! |

Ok I was a little confused about the whole date thing but im changing my answer the tree is 15yrs +or- 2yrs and its human urine from a bunch of drunks hanging out back with no where else to go but in the area of the tree it could also be grub worm leftovers or dirt from a worm farm growing indoors ?? |
