Ok, I've been waiting and waiting for those figs to get ripe and they do not oblige. |

Here in our area we go through this sad routine in mid-October removing big fat hard or skinny green soft figs from plants. Those not removed get moldy on the branch. |

The trees are without the leaves already. Would the figs ripen on a naked tree? We have enough heat now but it is a little too late... |

2014, i'm going to place my trees in different location. right front of my south facing wall where it gets sun all day long. hopefully, the trees are old enough to handle the sun and heat beating down on them. need new drip line set up. the one i had worn through the rubber right at the faucet. will have to try to repair it and get additional ones for growing number of trees. |

removing leaves does quicken the ripening of the fig. made that mistake last yr due to a week of no water on my older trees. drip line failed while i was off camping. figs didn't taste any good. but that might have been due to general suckiness of the weather last yr. |
