I have been looking everywhere for some good 24oz rooting cups and finally found some at a pretty good price online. I read the reviews and most people said it was a pretty strong cup. I just ordered 100 ( 2 orders) of these and with shipping it was $24.78...Maybe this will be helpful to the members here, If y'all are like me I've had a hard time finding 24 oz cups locally. : )

Might as well invest on a cheap soldering iron if you haven't already. Much easier to put holes in the cups.
You can burn at least 20 or 30 holes in less a minute per cup.

Just make sure you cover your mouth and nose so you don't inhale the smoke.

Thanks a lot Rafed! I got me a cheap solder gun a couple months ago and you are right,the only way to make drain holes! I started out using a drill and bits, not very good.

I've tried doing at least five at a time to try and save time.
By the time I was done burning the holes through, the cups had already fused together. Had to toss them away.

One at a time.

Unless you are talking about the drilling part? Then yes, you are correct.

Just any FYI to anyone who doesn't already have the tools -- I saw "el cheapo" soldering irons (technically soldering pencils) at a dollar store last winter.  I forget the exact price....I think it was $1. ;-)

Frank i just bought this item about a week ago!

The dollar store has great 32 oz containers... I tried melting holes in more than one at a time and like some others they stuck together...

i'll have to check out dollar store to see if they have 32oz deli containers :)

I had already checked the Dollar Stores locally and could not find any, you are very Lucky : )

The gas station down the street from my house sells fountain drink up to 42oz. in foam cups.
I asked the owner last year if he can sell me a couple sleeves and explained to him why I needed them.

He sold me a couple sleeves for a little over $2 each sleeve. Each sleeve had two dozen if I remember correctly.

It wouldn't hurt to go to a store or gas station you normally go to and ask.

I like to use foam cups sometime for the sole purpose of removing the plant/rootball when it comes time to do so.
Rather than pulling the plant out and possibly disturbing if not destroying everything I carefully cut along sides of the cup and I butterfly it open ( do not cut deep ). Then I pull the plant out with plant/rootball/soil all intact and pot up in a new or cleaned and disinfected pot.

Always use new or clean and disinfected pots. Fresh soil too. Used soil goes on the lawn or mix in garden soil.

purchased the lids and inverted the cups which make it easy to remove the plant after it has grown a root ball.

Mike,thanks a lot, that is a very good idea about the lids on Bottom! I may have to get me some of them also, Thanks!

I've bee using a nail with a pair of goose neck pliers and a propane torch. I works for the handful of cups I do each year. After I am done with my cups I rinse them out and wash them with some Comet or Ajax to dissenfect them and stack them for next year. I do end up destroying a few of the stubborn ones with scissors.
