This is Bisiri Large, aka Lightnot. Mr Bisiri called this fig a light fig which caused a ton of confusion for many who grow it and see a dark fig produced. What he was referring to was the light interior pulp. Whatever you call it, it is an excellent fig. Breba is better tasting than many main crop figs.

That's a nice fig Barry, I like the dark figs with the unexpected light color. I remember reading about the confusion of this fig. Mike in Hanover, VA

Barry, Thanks for posting these pictures of Bissiri Light. It looks good. Please remind me: Is Bissiri Light the same as Bissiri #1 or Bissiri #2?

Barry, I got this from Ricci who got cuttings from your tree as I understand - thanks!  I had an extra which I gave to a neighbor so there will be at least a couple of us in Rockville growing it.  Thanks for the photos - seems like documentation of the Bisirri figs is kind of confusing so the photos help.  This helps me to understand what "light" means with respect to the Bisirri figs.

Glad you were able to root a couple Rewton, I have had difficulty propagating this one. Gotta do a couple airlayers for friends. JD, the numbering system is Ricci's, unfortunately I can't keep track of which is which with numbers so I call them large  and small.

I have Bisirri #1 and #2 from Almost Eden. Both have set some figs this year I believe after dying back to the ground, so here's to hoping they ripen so I can see what I have.

Barry,

or others who have this fig,

I'd be very interested in acquiring cuttings this fall.  I grow in pots so this could supply a nice early crop.  I would trade for varieties I have or pay shipping whichever is preferred.  If anyone is interested please PM or Email me.

Thanks

Does anybody have White King?  I have one that is in its 3rd season and it has a heavy breba crop.  Haven't tasted any yet though.
