These figs are juicy and surprisingly sweet. Not may favorite but it is productive and likely much better in a cooler climate. Figs are looking and tasting better than they were in 2013.

Jimmie,

I meant to respond to this thread at the time but was sidetracked.
Is this the one I sent you a few years ago?

I think from what I understand was this and the Brogiotto Bianco were mixed up.
Try to compare it to BB.

I no longer have the tree, I gave it away.
I do have the real deal now and will post it later. Mine comes from Bauds pedigree. Not UCD.

Thanks Rafed.
Will do. The pulp color (Amber vs Reddish) and eye (Partially open versus Open with lashes) are different from the pictures that I have found thus far. I will keep thinking about it in the background.

Ok,
I have had you in mind for the first air layer off the real one.
I will start a thread on it soon.

Rafed, If you are starting a BB layer, please do not but thank you. Until you mentioned it, I had ever looked at it. If you are talking about a Dauphine layer, that's different.

Rafed, I have Dauphine, will I have any chance of getting brebas? And does it need the wasp for the main crop?

I don't think it need the wasp.
Brebas? I don't know?

I would rather have the main crop, thanks.

Rafed, I thought BB is somewhat squatty. Hence from JD's picture, I doubt it is BB. My BB died. Myself & Michael
got rid of Dauphine(Not).

Paul,

A mutual friend of ours once told me that there was once a mix up in a trade.
Said that the Dauphine was tagged under BB and BB was tagged under the Dauphine.

Of course both cultivars are totally different colors, I never owned a BB.

As a matter of fact. When I first posted the Dauphine (NOT) I posted as a "Dauphine". And I thought it was a light color fig at that. Only when I posted it I was told it was not. later on I heard it was mis-tagged and was told the story behind the infamous trade.

I gave Jimmie the air layer and going from what I heard that's why I said I thought it was the BB.
The fruit did taste good as far as I was concerned. Honey sweet with a hint of crème.

Yes, our mutual friend called me on Dauphine "NOT". Michael had ripe figs
from Dauphine "Not" and alerted me . He was not impressed the slightest about
its taste. He got rid of it and so did I. I try not to keep unknowns at all cost unless
it came highly recommended that I trial it. Space is not the core issue but time is as I
rather devote time to proven ones. I will post picture of my Dauphine later. Its an
in ground tree like your tree size. It is growing next to my Granthams Royal.

My BB came from our mutual friend. Never replace it. Another of our mutual friend here has it.

How is Michael anyway?
