Got this Fig from my Black Jack Cutting! I rooted it this last Winter and it gave me a present, only 1 Fig,  but I got it before the birds and Squirrels! Thought, I would take some photos of it. The taste was not top of the charts, but it was sweet and Berry tasting. Will put it in the ground next Spring...: )

Congrats, Frank! When you say 'seedling', do you mean the fig was started from a seed?

I was wondering about Black Jack. The nurseries had them here in TX. They say that it is a great container fig.
Please update us on the flavor next year. Thanks.

Black Jack was my very first buy a few months ago from a Home Depot here in So. Cal, I'm guessing it's it's first year bearing fruit, 3 to date and have been pretty big and tasty. Has two more in it, going they'll ripen soon. Out of eagerness I think I picked them a few days too soon, haha. I will try to hold off on there's last two. Definitely gonna try to root some cuttings from this one...

Congrats, looks better than most other black jack pictures I have seen.  Nice tight eye and no huge cavity inside the fig.

Looks real nice frank, I have a Black Jack but was afraid that the taste would not be that great, thanks for the good news.

Very nice!  I too have Black Jacks, with two tall mature plants in large pots and some one year olds in 5 gallon buckets for now.  Just turning ripe here in Kansas City area.  Still have quite a few green ones that are just starting to blush and swell, so thankful that our weather is holding out so they can ripen!
The Hardy Chicagos are still producing too, been a good year altho late.
Congrats on a good looking fig!
