Taste pretty good. Didn’t want to lose the first one so I picked it a little early since more are coming. Looks great, Keith. I am awaiting mine (probably won't ripen this year). Do you know the ethnic origin of this one? It has interesting leaves, and I think it had an interesting story of how you acquired it. Do you know anything else about this one? Age of the mother tree, country of origin, etc. Thanks. |

Looks nice and the mother tree is so big, it would feed an army. |

Thanks for the tip. Can anyone post some pics of their Stella leaves? I emailed One Green World who claim to have reintroduced Stella but haven't heard back yet. I first noticed Getty Green about 4 years ago on Getty Ave, Clifton. I’d pass every 3-4 months on the way for routine blood tests. My Doc is always trying to find something. I never saw anyone outside. I must have visited 40 times over the years. No one ever answered the doorbell. Finally I saw an elderly woman spraying a young child with the hose. Clifton has a lot of ethnic neighborhoods. Unfortunately her English wasn’t the best. I had a hard enough time explaining that I wanted a cutting; I didn’t bother asking her anything else. These trees are about 5-6 blocks from Getty Green. I rang his doorbell every time I rang hers. He never answered :( |

There is a fig called Vasilika Sika in circulation in North America which is in the same family as Stella and Dalmatie. That would be another candidate match for this UNK fig. |
