I keep thinking I'm going to harvest the last of the figs but I keep harvesting 1 or 2 more per day. This time I think it will really be the last ones with temperatures in the low to mid 20's only a couple days away. From left to right the figs are Sal's(Gene), Delonibus Black and Col de Dame Blanc. The Sal'sG and Delonibus Black were pretty bland. Actually the Delonibus Black was not quite fully ripe. Both from the leaves and the fruit this fig seems to be in the Sal's Corleone group of related figs. The CdDB fig was the very first one I tasted from this variety which started from a cutting in the winter of 2013. It was pretty good given that it ripened under poor conditions. I can definitely see the potential of this variety. Maybe next year it will ripen sooner. |

Nice plate for November! I came upon a 1/2 ripened Carini today and it was actually pretty good considering the time of year. |

Frank I had a decent Carini today. I'm still getting good Adriatic JH and Blanch de Deux Saisons along with Mary Lane Seedless, Skardu Black, Cavaliere (they are just crazy ever bearers) and St Jeromes (another that's been overbearing). |

I had a Carini yesterday and a couple Smith(maybe). The Carini fig is very consistently good here, haven't had a bland one yet. It's supposed to be get to -9F here tonight, that might just put an end to all the figs in sun room for the season. I'm going to put a heater in there on a timer 30 minutes on/off all night, we'll see if they have leaves that still work in the morning. I wouldn't be able to sleep good leaving it run all night. |

Michael, I was really impressed with how deep red the pulp of the CdDB fig was. That's always a good sign. I had some really great Adriatic JH earlier in the season but there was a lull between the early figs and the really late figs which most definitely will not get ripe this season. The JHA figs were nearly as good as Black Madeira/Figo Preto for me. |
