Hey guys and gals, over the past 2 days I've been hauling figs in the garage, shed and GH looking back on this year.  I am still not done.  This was not my best year for figs.

My trees did not grow that much.  But some of my giants did.  Last winter really took a toll on my trees.  They still produced but not like in previous years.  Then came the rain!!!!  Argh!!

The only shiny thing that made me smile this year was, I made 2 trips to California.  One to see JV and eat bananas from his trees.  On the other trip, Jon and I met up at UC Davis and pigged out on figs for 2 days!  We had a lot of fun!  I haven't posted pics or the video yet, but I will.

Looking at my garage trees, it looks like I may have more cuttings to give away from others already sent out this year.  I'm making a list of what I have and instead of posting a list, I've decided to pay it forward.

So please update your wish list.   Every day, I will make a random search to see what folks are looking for.  And if you have not already done so and turn on your PM.  If you get a PM from me, then maybe I have something coming your way.  It really depends on my trees.

cheers!

Dennis, are you wanting us to update wish lists in sigs or profiles, or the 2014-15 wish list thread (http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/annual-wishlist-of-6-most-desirable-fig-cuttings-for-201415-7017474?&trail=50) ??

Nice of you to offer some nice surprises to some lucky members.

I usually keep my wish list in my profile, but I'll move it to my sig for cuttings season :)

Very generous offer Dennis.

If you have extra, I would enjoy any variety with a closed eye not of the honey fig family.

I am new to growing figs (and new to this forum) and would love to get hold of a few cuttings. If you are interested in helping a new enthusiast in Wenatchee Washington get started I would much appreciate it. I would be happy to pay for cuttings, shipping, whatever, just excited to give it a try.

That is very generous. I am currently on the search for the best green fig with red interior, but I scored some Jh adriatic on ebay so I might be all set. You are a great example for the forum.

Awesome idea Dennis! Shah8, not too many people looking for Galbun. I have an extra I started this spring if you are interested.

This is just a wishful thinking. I know you won't be able to post internationally. But here is my list anyway...negronne, marseilles vs black, black madeira and smith. These are the varieties that I have had and lost for some reason. Thank you for the offer. It is really very kind of you. Norhayati

Hey Dennis,

Great idea!  Very generous offer.  I'm still working on house so nothing has been trimmed yet but when I get to it I'll take a cutting off of that unknown fig from UC Daves that I got from Bill's.

That's a great offer Dennis! If you were closer to me I would put fig storage! That's the only thing on my wishlist now.

Whew, making a wish list took some effort.  There are so many varieties to try, but not enough space to store them.

Another new member and trying to figure out how it all works. I be been reading mainly older postings fo the past couple of years and wanted to thank you all for the awesome tips and info about figs and growing them. I have a couple of in ground trees that I got from the Home Depot in the spring of 2011 as brow turkey but I doubt they are. Medium size fruit light brownish with long neck redish very sweet interior very juicy and good production this past season, about 400 from both , that ripened within a week to or two. I asume them to be 6 years old at the most and very cold hardy. Southern brown maybe or some kind of celest. Plenty of cuttings to trade or just share .whish list , any green or white fig type like ADr JH. Lsu gold dalmatie or vasilika that I grew up eating. Thanks again guys and gals.

Nice offer. As a first year grower, 1 more tree will put me at 14 varieties, which is a good point for me to stop at my experience level and see how I fare with them next season.

Hey BIlly. Wow , 14 sounds like a great number. Have you tasted or rather gotten fruit from all of them?

Hello Chris. No figs yet. I received 2 air layered trees (Chiapetta and a Greek Unk) a couple weeks ago that have 2 small figs already on them, but it's way too late for them to ripen now. So next season holds a lot of promise, pretty excited. =)

bil

Sorry Bill, had to step out . Be patient my friend. Time goes fast and you ll be tasting those figgies before you know it. If you can send me an address I d love to send a couple of cuttings from my trees and make it 14 or 15 rather! Like I said before , not sure of true origin but great figs for our region. I ll post some pics as soon as I figure out how. Peace.

Thank-you Chris, very kind. Very cold hardy and very productive are 2 traits I can't pass by. even if they push my over my quota a little bit. =)

Good day everyone. Need a little help being a newbie and all. Trying to send a few cuttings to a friend in a nearby state, no more than a three day trip via ground delivery I think. What is the best way to package? Thanks in advance for any help!

Dennis, my list is up to date:)
It is very generous of you to take the time to send out fig cuttings and spread the love of figs.  It takes a lot of time and work to do this and I am sure everyone appreciates it.
