Hi Everyone,

I am thinking to buy some cuttings from eBay, but not sure if it is OK to send them to Canada ? Does anybody from Canada know about this or tried before with no problem.
Also what variety you may suggest to buy cuttings that are worth to try to begin with. I prefer green fig with reddish and sweet inside (big crop if possible)

Tks a million

Hello, I think from ebay you can ask the seller if he can send it to you. You can also see if the seller do not want to ship in some countries. Try with sellers whose countries are near to your country. In this case, your cuttings will arrive faster. Look information from fig4fun to find the varieties and you can choose one to start with.

Hi Rache,

I did check with eBay sellers and they said they are not responsible for my concern.

Hi pacifica,
From memory, there are restrictions, even from USA to Canada.
Every country is trying to avoid the spreading of pests.

Make it simple: Go to Adriano's nursery - he is in Canada too. see http://www.adrianosfigtrees.com/index.html
There are some members from Canada here, that you can check with for cuttings later in the season.
But for having quickly a production of figs, you would start with a small established tree  - one or two or more depending on the space you have, and your resources of course.
You may want to start with two to see if you can handle them properly. I would say that starting with 20 to figure that you can't handle the task, is not the best idea.
Canada is big, so you're perhaps on the other side of the country when compared to Adriano's nursery location, but he may ship.

Another source here in Canada is Brugmansia-Quebec http://brugmansia-quebec.com/Catalog.html

Dany has a large selection of figs at good prices.
