Grown in the southeastern counties this large tasty and flavored Common fig was in the distant past a very popular fruit and it seems to be coming back again. Not showing its juicy insides as it's not yet fully ripe. Hope the birds will give me an opportunity to do it

Hi Lampo, What color should it be when ripe ? Is it an early or a late ripening variety ?

Ripens around the last week of August in this climate. Colors will not change much from what is in the picture...may be slightly darker In ground, in certain conditions and without irrigation acquires a few violaceous shades on the skin.
