Does anyone have places or links they can give me that has Fig Tree Cuttings For Sale? All types

I just want to see the variety that's out there

I use Ebay and Amazon and have great ratings, just wondering if anyone have other places that sell fig cuttings, thanks!

Members from the 2 major fig forums almost always offer cuttings for sale when they have them and both have variety lists.  This is a variety list hosted here at F4F http://figs4fun.com/varieties.html for example.

Almost all of my cuttings have come from forum members, even before I knew about the forums it seemed the cuttings I found on craigslist were still from people I later found out were on the forums lol

Many sellers won't ship to California. Encanto farms in California is a very good source for different cultivars. Also ebay sellers are a good source. Just becareful who you purchase from. Make sure you buy from a reputable seller. I thought the restriction on sending to CA was in regards to the soil, would that still apply to soil less cuttings?  I wouldnt think there would be any issue shipping "sticks" into CA.  I could be wrong though.

There was a thread on it recently and a response from Ca. Ag was cuttings were ok

Wanna know another tidbit? If the package is priority mail, priority mail express, First–Class Package Service, or international letter, it is considered "sealed" and postal/agricultural inspectors CAN NOT open it without the approval of the sender or the recipient.

Where did you get this idea?

Customs and Agriculture is a LEA , not going to ask anybody to open whatever they want!

That maybe true but when California receives 1.5 million packages a day, how many do you think they open? Besides cuttings are OK almost anywhere even California.

As far as I know Harvey has got every single cultivar available in the US and he's from California . I think he will start his sales on eBay later this month under the name "HarveyC" . You will get the right varitiey from him also won't have any issues with USDA .

If they want to open a package, and they do not have permission of the sender (either written on the box, or given via telephone), or the permission of the recipient (via telephone), they have to apply for a federal search warrant.

CA Ag inspectors will contact either sender or recipient for permission to inspect if the suspect plant material is enclosed. The will not allow delivery until they inspect. State law is very clear on requirements.

Customs and Border Protection is opening international mail coming into the U.S. without warrant.

Sadly, this is legal.

Congress passed a trade act in 2002, 107 H.R. 3009, that expanded the Custom Service's ability to open international mail. Here's the beginning of Section 344:

(1) In general.--For purposes of ensuring compliance with the Customs laws of the United States and other laws enforced by the Customs Service, including the provisions of law described in paragraph (2), a Customs officer may, subject to the provisions of this section, stop and search at the border, without a search warrant, mail of domestic origin transmitted for export by the United States Postal Service and foreign mail transiting the United States that is being imported or exported by the United States Postal Service.

21 Terminal Inspection Act

The Terminal Inspection Act (7 U.S.C 7760) makes it unlawful for anyone to mail a package that contains a plant or a plant product to an address in a global state or territory maintaining inspection of such plant or plant product if the outside of the package is not marked with a statement that fully and conspicuously identifies the contents. The statute authorizes imposition of a monetary penalty on anyone who makes such an unlawful mailing.
