That fig was brought to the LSU gathering by Terry LeBlanc. For the time being it's name after the family that brought the fig to the States over a hundred years ago. There is an ongoing search for the real name but until then Terry is calling it the Italian Black Russo. It supposedly comes from Cefalù  a city and commune in the Province of Palermo, located on the northern coast of Sicily. It has similarities to Hardy Chicago and Marseilles Black.

I just lost this tree. It was in a pot. Dont know what happened. Looking for a cutting now. Had it in peat moss.

Just to try and stir your memory Richie;

I thought I lost my Marmentino last year. 
I looked for the 2 gal pot with black tag everywhere.  
Then a few days later I happily remembered that I had up potted it to 4 gal red container. All was well.
