Well I moved some trees in the garage for some figs to ripen. checked them yesterday to find  they did ripen and a mole got to them before me. And one of the trees he dug a hole to the roots and shredded them. Any Ideas how to keep moles away from my trees. Ive used mouse traps in the past with good success this year  i let my guard down and they got me any help would be greatly appreciated

Last effort to have some ripe figs. temps going into 30s tonight most of the figs need about a week of warmth to be ripe crossing my fingers.enjoy

I have grown up eating this fig. I was my Dads tree in queens NY. Never covered in the winter, just cut down every year,and produced tons of figs. I brought plates of figs and cuttings to Chris from Belclare nurseries in L.I N.Y. He could not ID it because he said it was similar to a few but the taste was unique.Here is some info has two crops when its hot.Has a closed eye, the taste is not to sweet and jam texture. Could be from Italy or Greece any help would be appreciated

Hi My good friend gave me this tree about 4 years. Finally I got my first fig. He said his father  brought it  back from Italy and  called  it Sicilian Black. It has a closed eye and great flavor just sweet enough any help would be greatly appreciated

            Dan I was on a cruise ship when  I got to each  Island I took cuttings  in my bag . threw x ray and they didnt say anything. then in Italy they were wrapped in my bags not problem. Then customs in Philly & NY no problem. But I was sweating each time. what we do for  figs is nuts

They were cut this  exact time last year. I took green cuttings put them straight into  potting mix. winter  stored them in my garage  watering once a month a little bit took them out in march and they took off. lost  Three

 Hi Just looking to get a Id on this fig It was my dads tree he had it for a very long time. I brought figs and cuttings to Chris from Bellclaire He told me it resembled a certain fig but the taste was different. At  that time I just met him and didn't  care about what it was,all I new the figs sweet and plentiful.
