• Art, I would say the flavor is similar, but the AB was more intense. I know for shure that the southern part of Italy indeed does have the wasp. My fathers orchard in Bari had both the wasp and caprifig.    Angelo zone 7A NY

This year the breba was better than the main crop in the case of the hand grenade fig so far. However last week with minimal rain all my main crop tasted considerably better. Negronne was also one of the best for me too.  Angelo Zone 7A NY 

Luke and I were able swap for plants we both were looking for. It was a pleasure to meet you Luke and thanks for the tree. Also had the honor to meet with Vito ,his brother Angelo and nephew Joe. We all had a good time talking and tasting figs . Ed brought his Rockaway Green fig,which wowed everyone who tried it.  Forum member 71 GTO and his wife were also there. It was nice to meet them. Picked a Pastiliere {UCD source} this morning. Tree is in its third season, fruit was excellent tasting. Started with 4 fruits ended with 2 that held on....... Angelo Zone 7a NY

That is correct Jason. Herman also has a variant he calls long brown honey. I have already looked up the other brunswick types. My tree also does not show FMV, unlike my two other Brunswicks, Red Italian ETC. I happen to like the flavor of the brunswick types.  Thanks ...Angelo

Francisco,  Wow there is striking similarities between your Lampa Branco and my unknown white fig. The white fig is a two crop fig however.No caprification needed. Very nice ,thanks for chiming in.  Frank, you and I are thinking the same. After trying so many varieties with very mixed results, I realized further the value of these unknown varieties. Most of these figs were snuck in to the country by  Italian immigrants .They are not common varieties , I see unique characteristics in many of them. There are many types I am trying out right now.I will post whenever I have something interesting.   Angelo Zone 7a NY

Frank, I use Osmocote indoor/outdoor  19-6-12.Its a slow release pellet that I apply in spring like you do. I re-apply once more toward the end of june. Most of my plants are in Pro- Mix. I understand your concern about protecting against winter damage, but remember that as the plant ages ,the wood hardens more. The older your tree gets the hardier they become.I used to use Miracle Grow with good results. I switched to osmocote because it was less work. As per wilt-pruf ,i have no experience with it.  Good Luck and hope for mild winters like the last one.I store my trees in an unheated detached garage.      Angelo Zone 7A NY
