I just cut off quite a few branches from my trees. Basically if they didn't have any figlets they were gonners. I did this so that the figlets would get sun all day and are not covered by leaves and branches. I am in Zone 6.

Good idea or bad idea? will that do more harm or good?

I had the same problem in one of my pots, was advised to use Milky spore, which seemed to minimize the amount of grubs. However, it could take 2-3 years of using milky spore before they are all gone. With that said, the fig tree continued to produce for the past few years even with the grubs in the soil. They seemed to be harmless to the fig tree, though I find them rather gross.

bought several figs from them: VB, neverella, Latrulla (?). All produced figs. Also have bough many other exotic fruit trees (some have produced, some have not). I like their choices and their customer service is good. Shipping to Northeast can be a bit pricey, but it is what it is. Overall a thumbs up

i have been fortunate to try figs up and down the Adriatic and part of the Ionian, from Croatia, Bosnia (Medjugorje is beautiful and a once in a lifetime place to visit), Montenegro, Albania and northern Greece. I found english speaking people in most of those countries. Though I must the attitudes towards Americans kinda sucked in Greece and even in the country of my birth, Montenegro.

I actually have a small tree from Southern Montenegro that is almost 2 years old. It is from Shen Gjergj (St. George) a small town along the river Buna near Ulqin and across teh river from Albania. It is in a bucket with several small figs (dark variety I believe). Once established I should be able to share some cuttings.

BTW - I saw a lot of wild fig trees along the Adriatic coast. Its like a fig lovers paradise over there.
