Harvey,

How would you describe the taste of Sequoia in comparison to Sierra?

If you had room for only one of the two, which would you choose?

I have just recently purchased from johnsvmf1 on ebay and he was an  excellent seller.  He communicated with me about the shipment and even asked if I had a wish list for a bonus he offered.  I would definitely purchase from him again without hesitation. Look at his feedback, some of his buyers are members of this forum.

Herman,

When and how do you recommend providing fertilizer for a new cutting that has rooted?  Should it be withheld for the first year of growth?

In total, how many pots do you have? What size pot(gallons) do you utilize the most for your figs?
And, how long does it take for you to root prune your collection?  I would guess that you only prune a certain percentage of the figs each year.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.  I tried all different combinations, now I know why I couldn't get it done.  I'll try the email route.

I would like to attach a picture to a private message to a member.  I have not been able to figure out how to use the "insert image" icon.  It asks for a url, but the picture is in my pictures library on my computer.

Can anyone describe the steps to attach a picture?

Thanks,
Mayson

On one of the pictures, it appears that the pot is sitting on a round concrete pad.
Do you place something under your pots to keep the roots from growing into the ground?

The trees are beautiful. I would enjoy seeing pictures of them when they have leafed out.

Are the varieties in the  5 inch pots ones that are small enough that you would consider shipping?

I am in the Midwest, so I wouldn't be able to stop by for pickup.

Hello Bob,

I received my package today, June 1st.  Both figs are in excellent shape. The packaging did a great job of protecting them during transit.  Thanks again, Mayson

Thanks for sharing your experience.  I guess I have to choose which way to go for next winter.  I only have cuttings that i have started this year right now.

I am in Zone 5 also.  I know many members of the forum store their plants in the garage over the winter.  My concern was weighing the added protection from being in the basement against the potential for the plants to break dormancy too early. My garage is not attached to my house and can get very cold some winters.

Hi

Have you always stored your figs in the basement during the winter?  In past years when the weather was colder, if they were in the basement, how late into the winter before they would break dormancy?
