Hi These are used in the UK for vending machines various sizes are available depending on what you put inside the larger ones can also be used as a saving ball for loose change as they have a slot cut into the top if you look at the tape it says water here all they are doing is cutting a hole on both sides for the branch to go through

Hi All
Here's a few pictures of cuttings from my home made fogger/cloner these have been in the box for 10 days I'm now going to pot them up and place them under the lights i have another 10 with roots like the ones in the pictures some have even more roots on them this is great i have never had such high rooting success & No Gnat to worry about
I would highly recommend using this method of propagation it very easy to build No skills needed other than marking out you grid for the holes and cutting them out & its cheap to build
and run
I have also managed to root cuttings of 3 inches in size IMAG0001.JPG  IMAG0002.JPG  IMAG0003.JPG  next time I'm going to try 2inch might try getting it down to 1 inch [1 noad] IMAG0002.JPG

Hi Andy
Being totally enclosed it holds the moisture quit well with zero leakage & with the water heater set at 90f [this gets switched of with the rest of the unit ]  it holds the humidity until i switch it back on in the morning this is a Fogger unit & NOT a mister unit so it gets plenty of warm moist fog/water the fog is NOT 90f just the water so far i have had 100% success in rooting nice big roots on my cuttings i have potted up 2 dozen cuttings this week & will have another 2 dozen ready to go by the weekend average time from twig to rooted twig ready to pot up 10 to 15 days
the manufacturers of the foggers recommend only 8 hours use in every 12 hours use so I'm pushing them to there limits also the ceramic disc have a life of 5000 hr but they are cheap enough to replace

Hi  Andrew

Yes you are right its the fogger not the mister system i get the two mixed up here is a few pictures as requested the colour changing lights are optional dont know if it affects the root growth but hey they rather pretty

Hi   Jerry   I leave it running all day and only turn it of when i go to bed about 10pm up about 6am IMAG0001.JPG  IMAG0002.JPG  IMAG0003.JPG  IMAG0004.JPG  about 6am

Hi All just to let you know that i have built a cloner using all the great information on this web site and it works a treat i have just potted up a dozen cuttings the roots were amazing so many of them a little slow on leafing out but the roots make up for the lack of leaves
I'm using the mister method using small cheap misters from china no mucking about with cutting tubing & gluing no pump to worry about no plastic misting nozzles to fit just buy your plastic container mark out you holes cut out that's it job done fill with 3 to 4 inches of water slide in a heater place you misters in 1 at each end put a thermometer in switch on fill with cuttings and away you go holds 28 cuttings more if you get a larger container

kkk2210    This ones for you all  electrical parts available from eBay china cost £27.00

Hi
On a more serious point do not let your cats or dogs eat the raw slugs because they can carry a potentially lethal infection of lung worm  very nasty bug

Hi All just a little warning about leaving leaving your dear sweet mother alone in your house with your young fig cuttings while on holiday please inform them about the[ dead ] sticks in your garage /shed or wherever your plant nursery is explain to her that they are NOT dead but just sleeping
OR THIS MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOU i planned a nice break for me & the wife 5 days in the sun in Spain ask my mother to look after the house while we was away i  FORGOT to explain about the [dead sticks] i asked her to water the trees & other plants while i was away
We had a great time on holiday came back home alls well then my mother turned round and said oh i had a bit of a clean round while you was away THREW OUT ALL THOSE DEAD STICK THAT YOU HAD IN THE BACK ROOM MY HEART SUNK rushed into the room & sure enough all my cuttins GONE the larger trees with leaves were still there but not one of the [sticks] 105 cuttings well needless to say we had a few words but you cant be angry for long with you mother we had a bit of a laugh a bit of a cry & she now owes me for 105 fig cutting
                               SO BE WARNED

Hi Sorry if i have go of on the wrong foot here what i was trying to do was not bombard members with requests for cutting not knowing whether or not they will deliver to me i was just trying to simplify the process where  each member stating whether or not they ship to the U.K so that i do not have to contact  members when they advertise cuttings & asking if they deliver to the U.K. [sending message waiting for reply etc ]as most members live in the U.S.A. i presume that it will be quite hard to swap with these members   lots of waisted time p.m.s &   Emails etc

Hi All was trawling through the web sites yesterday and found this site brugmansia-quebec its based in Canada and they have got a collection of over 50 fig trees  Cuttings sell between 6.50 c.a.d & 12.50 c.a.d. shipping is reasonable they also sell trees ready for planting
Email Sliebe@hotmail.com    The site is in french but they have a translate button just press it to translate into english   very interesting site

Hi All can i put forward a suggestion  to all members about shipping/posting as this site goes world wide and each country has it own customs import & export laws
We all can respect each other  whether  they are willing or not to ship cutting or plants out of there own country
It would save a lot of unnecessary p.m.s & Emails to & from members asking if they ship/post outside there country If each member could put a TAG at the bottom of there post were they advertise cutting / plants to swap/sell saying that they  DO OR DO NOT SHIP TO ----????? COUNTRY

I think this would be much appreciated by fellow members and save repeated  p.m & Emails asking this question thanks

Hi I would love one [1] of your fig cuttings but i live in the U.K. Great Britain and find it very hard to get the fig cuttings shiped/posted to me even though i am willing to pay the cost
Theres loads of different figs but very few of these variates are known to the U.K. general public
even the garden centres do not stock named fig variates just the usual ones like Brown Turkey I dont want hundreds & hundreds
of Brown Turkey fig trees
what i would like is a good broad selection of good quality fig trees
Once i have a good selection and they are ready to take cuttings
I can start introducing the U.K. to the vast aray of figs availeable
