What is vitamino and where do you get it? Can I find it on ebay? Shopping is very limited here.

I got my cuttings today in the mail. They look pretty good. I was happy for the low price.

My current worry is will my other figs make it through the winter. It is colder than usual. I have them covered but that might not be enough. I hope it is though. I don't have anything rare but not every variety is available every year.

I live very in a very rural area. Shopping sucks to put it mildly. I have bought vermiculite on ebay, a very large bag. I should do that with perlite but have not done so yet.
I have found info here very helpful in rooting. I use a clear 18 gallon Sterlite containers as little green houses. They are fairly cheap and available. I know I am not the only one who does this ether. I hope this helps some.

I had won 2 varieties on ebay this week and found my order cancelled. It said they had run out of cuttings.

I don't have Dish anymore. Last spring the theater had a major electrical problem and it affected  a lot of people around here. I live 35 miles from the theater. I have decided I need a new house before I get Dish back. In the meantime, I can watch shows that I like online like PBS and a couple of other channels. I also have a subscription to an Old time radio website. I only get 2 radio stations where I live.

My big thrill was getting cuttings to root and then getting them on their way to become trees.

I use 1 gallon clear salad dressing jars. I have a sun tea jar lid on 2 of the jars. The covered spout works well as ventilation. You could also buy a couple suntea jars after summer is over and they are on clearance sale.

That is my Two Cents about mini greenhouses. I don't drink soda so I never have any bottles.

I read Mother Earth News and there are a lot of different  frugal greenhouse designs.  One person used pig fencing. I think concrete re-enforcing wire made into X number of half circles all linked into a long tunnel, covered in greenhouse plastic with the ends made into functional openings would work. I know Sacramento does not have the winds and potential tornadoes that are present in MIssouri every year. A freind did tell me there was a tornado around Chico this year.

How do I put zone 6 and figs at the bottom?

I just bought some of those 'Galbun' fig cuttings. I guess I will have to see what they turn out to be. I will be more careful in the future.

I am brand new here now.  I have loved figs my whole life.  Figs grow wild along the Sacramento River in California which is where I am from.
I finally figured out how to root figs after reading about the subject. I use clear gallon jars and put fig cuttings in there with a smidge of water on the bottom. I work in a restaurant so getting the gallon jars is pretty easy.
I came here because people I bought fig cuttings from on EBay are members here.
I didn't know there were so many varieties of figs and I thought all figs were black. Live and learn.

I currently live in central southern Missouri, zone 6.
