Hi Nick,
Thank you so much for the cuttings! I wrapped some of them in parafilm and rooted them directly. Others, I put into a container with moist coir. I'm curious to see which method will root faster.

Dave,

I am so jealous! Those roots look awesome! How do you water the plants? Do you pour from the top until the coir is drenched and wate flows from the bottom? My problem is I don't know how to water the plants without causing waterlog. I recently lost a lot of cuttings due to rot. : (

Thanks, Gabe! The cuttings look great! I'm going to try the coir method this time. I've been using the sphagnum moss before which works great but I had a little difficulty separating the moss from the roots.

I think the members on this forum are great. You guys share your knowledge, experience, and cuttings freely. I've been a member for only a short time but I'm overwhelmed by your generosity. In particular, I would like to thank Eukofios. I hope I'm not embarrassing him by saying this. He had no idea who I was but he very kindly offered cuttings to a newbie out of the blue. Thank you, Daniel!

Hi Tim, that is an amazing setup! I'm new so I hope you don't mind my asking but how does putting 2 cuttings in one pot help with the rooting and growing process?

I'm so glad you posted this question, brettjm! One of my cuttings had really good top growth but when I transplanted it from 100% perlite to a one gallon pot of 50/50 mix of coir and perlite, the leaves all wilted. It's only been a couple of days for me but I'm afraid that the leaves are doomed. :(

When your cuttings are in perlite or coir, are any of you guys using Canna Aqua Vega?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if we could do a poll on what we each use to water our rooted cuttings. I've been using just tap water and nothing else but I've been reading some posts from people who use canna Aqua vega and some who use reverse osmosis water. Can everyone just chime in on what they use and possibly their reason and whether they noticed a difference?

Thanks!

Oh boy! I did that for several of my cuttings. In fact, most of my cuttings are 4 in one container of petite. I should have thought ahead but I didn't have enough empty containers on hand. Was it particularly hard to separate them without damaging the roots?

Thank you for the advice, everyone. It hurt me to break off the figlets but I finally did it. Tough love...

Hi everyone,

I just started rooting my first fig cuttings this year so I hope no one minds if I ask a newbie question. One of my atreano gold cuttings has started putting out figlets. Should I let the figlets grow or am I supposed to remove them so the cutting can put more energy into the roots?
