I don't mind having a Brunswick in my collection, but I was looking for a Kathleen Black and I paid $35-40 for it. I could have gotten a Brunswick for free from a local grower.

Anyone know if ebay seller by the username of retired_electronic_tech is a member on this forum? Have anyone bought from him before? I bought what was supposed to be a young Kathleen Black fig tree from him last year. The tree put out about 8 figs this year, but the fruit indicate that it's not a Kathleen Black. It end up being a Brunswick. I messaged him on ebay a few weeks ago, but never got a response.

I guess I will remove them then so the tree can focus its energy on growth and the rest of the healthy figs.
Does anyone know what the cause may be?

My Kathleen's Black fig tree is in its second year. This is the first year that it is producing figs. Three days ago, I noticed that some of my breba figs are turning yellow (picture below). I felt it and it is still hard like a normal unripe fig. Anyone know what might be wrong? Should I remove the yellow figs or leave it?

Darn it. Won't be able to make it. It would be nice to meet you guys & gals and sample all the figs and learn a few things, but the timing doesn't work.
I fly down to NOLA bi-weekly. Might be in NOLA that week but have to fly back friday :(

Hello Guys and Gals!

I'm Ken from Cleveland, OH. I'm pretty new to this whole fig growing thing.
I purchased my first fig plant back in September of last year - a Brown Turkey. There were four figs on the plant when I purchased it. I pinched two small ones off to allow the larger ones to ripen before winter hits. Since then I got hook on collect figs. The following month I bought a Magnolia, a unknown Italian, and a Black Mission.

I was able to successfully keep them all alive over winter, and they are now putting out healthy leaves. They are all in 3 & 5 gallon containers. Since then I've added a few more to my collection. I'm currently rooting Celeste, LSU Gold, LSU Hunt, LSU Tiger, C'est Bon, Hardy Chicago, Texas Everbearing, and Marseille.

I don't really know much about gardening, but I guess if I'm able to grow hundreds of reef corals I shouldn't have much problem with figs haha. So far so good.
I hope to learn from you all.
