After reading your post, two plants of mine come to mind.
1. Mexican Flame Vine (cuttings, no seeds at this time)
- Perennial flower for USDA hardiness zones 9a-11b (lows to -6.7 °C or 20 °F)
- Slightly colder zones can mulch and pray
- Fast growing annual in colder regions
- Full sun to part shade
- Height: 10-12 feet
- Spacing: 1-2 ft
- Flowers prolifically with vibrant orange blooms
- Blooms all season to first frost
2. Texas Bird Pepper/Capsicum annuum L. (seeds)
Does well in a container, dozens of small flowers that attract bees
